KENSHO STUDIO GUIDELINES
Please take your time to familiarize yourself with our studio guidelines. We are mindful that, in order to facilitate an inclusive environment for all, we need to ensure that our studio guidelines and policies are adhered to by our wider community. We thank you for your contribution and commitment in creating a space for everyone to enjoy and invest in SELF.
BOOKING YOUR CLASS:
We currently use MOMENCE as our booking platform. For ease, please visit our schedule to book a session that suits you (you can also use our Kensho App to manage your bookings). Alternatively, head to our pricing to find a membership or session pack that meets your needs.
OUR CLASS SIZES:
Our Pilates studio is a TWELVE reformer bed studio. We have allowed for ample space in our layout so that each client can move freely, safely, and in comfort.
We require a minimum of THREE clients for a session to run. For two or less, the session will be cancelled. You will be contacted via text, phone, or email no later than 2 hours prior to the start of class, and your session will be credited back to your MOMENCE account. All three methods of contact will be made if one or more are unsuccessful.
CANCELLING YOUR CLASS:
Cancellations made more than 9 hours before class will have their session credited back to their MOMENCE account.
Late cancellations made less than 9 hours before class will forfeit the session. No exceptions unless a medical certificate can be provided.
No shows and absences will forfeit the session. (10 minutes or more late is considered a No-Show). Please see our fees and charges.
Essential, Momentum, Unlimited, and Elite members:
Late cancels and no shows will incur a $10 fee. Fees are charged to the card on file 48 hours after the planned session.
Pack members:
Late cancels and no shows will result in a forfeiture of the class.
NOTE: Emails and messages on social media notifying us of a cancellation or booking requests won’t be accepted. Please log into your MOMENCE account to manage your bookings.
WAITLISTS:
If a class you want is full, you have the option to sign up for the waitlist. If and when a spot becomes available, you may get a text or email from us offering you a place in that session.
If we don’t receive a response, the system will automatically book you in as we assume you’re coming. If you no longer want the session when offered, make sure you respond with “N” to the text or “No Thanks” to the email. You won’t be charged a late fee or lose the session UNLESS you choose to accept the session (either by not responding) and later change your mind.
ARRIVAL TIMES:
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class.
Our sessions are 45 minutes; therefore, we start our classes promptly. Latecomers (10 or more minutes late) will be unable to join, as it disrupts the experience for other studio members. If you’re late, you forfeit the session and are considered a “no-show.”
Any spare reformers will be offered to our waitlisted members and walk-ins.
MOBILE PHONES and iWATCHES:
We appreciate that we live in a modern world; however, Kensho has been created as a studio for SELF, where our community switches off from the outside world and drops into SELF.
To maintain a peaceful space for everyone, we kindly request NO PHONES IN THE STUDIO SPACE. Phones in bags must be turned on silent and kept with your belongings in the lockers.
NEW TO OUR SPACE and PILATES:
Please arrive 10 minutes before the session starts to meet your teacher and the reformer you will be using for the class. Any injuries or ailments need to be shared with your teacher before the session starts.
Please leave all personal belongings at the bench (except your drink bottle). No phones allowed in the studio space (next to your reformer).
Our teachers are Pilates qualified and trained to support you throughout the class and give you options that meet your body’s needs on the day.
If anything doesn’t feel quite right, please communicate with the teacher to ensure we find a suitable alternative to keep you moving.
WHAT TO BRING:
– Drink bottle
– Sweat towel (optional – unless you are known to perspire)
– Socks (we request all community members wear grip socks for both hygiene and safety reasons)
WHAT WE OFFER: – A safe and welcoming environment – Qualified Pilates teachers – Gender-neutral bathroom (including shower) – Filtered tap water
PREGNANCY:
We welcome our pregnant clients to join us throughout their pregnancy journey. If you have an uncomplicated pregnancy and are feeling well, it’s our pleasure to support you along this magical journey. Below are our gestation milestones for studio classes:
– ANY studio classes: Up to 15 weeks pregnant (note that Strength is our higher cardio class, and caution should be taken)

REFUNDS and RETURNS POLICY: We do not offer refunds for a change of mind, unused sessions, or studio closure due to any circumstance unforeseen by or external to the business, in line with Consumer Affairs VIC policy.
Sessions cannot be transferred to another person.
All studio members must have their own account (for safety and insurance purposes) and purchase their own sessions.
Anyone found not to be using their own account will be asked to set one up and purchase their own class passes.

SAUNA LOUNGE GUIDELINES
CANCELLATION + RESCHEDULING POLICY
Life can be unpredictable, and we appreciate your understanding. Please provide us with at least a 12-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment to avoid a late cancellation fee.
Cancellation or rescheduling within 12 hours of your appointment incurs a 50% fee of the booking cost. If done within 24 hours, a 100% cancellation charge applies. No-shows result in a 100% charge of the service cost.
For unforeseen sickness (including COVID), a medical certificate is required for consideration in waiving cancellation fees.
PAYMENTS
To secure your appointment, we require 100% upfront payment via credit card or gift voucher. Payments are securely handled by our processors, Stripe (online) or Square (in-studio). Full refunds are applicable outside the 12-hour Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy.
Our cancellation policy is in place to safeguard Kensho and our staff from financial losses, and we appreciate your cooperation 🤍
LATENESS
While we understand that plans may change, accommodating tardiness affects subsequent guests’ experiences. To ensure a relaxing experience for all, kindly arrive a few minutes early and conclude your session on time. Our team is authorized to gently remind you of the session end if you exceed the allocated time.
SAUNA Code of Conduct
At our Sanctuary, we adopt a no-nonsense wellness approach. We embrace inclusivity, respecting all bodies, shapes, sizes, colors, gender expressions, and abilities.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior. Engaging in any sexual acts at Kensho will result in immediate escorting out and a strict ban from our premises.
Our Infrared Sauna is considered a Dry Sauna, implying careful use of electrical components.
Welcome to our state-of-the-art recovery room, where we’ve harnessed relaxation and rejuvenation through the innovative power of contrast therapy.
Step into the soothing embrace of our infrared sauna, enveloping you in gentle warmth that promotes deep healing and relaxation, and then immerse yourself in our invigorating ice bath, where the cold rush revitalizes and renews your body.
This cutting-edge experience offers a holistic approach to recovery, ensuring you leave feeling refreshed, reenergized, and ready to conquer life’s challenges.
we understand that life happens and there are times when we need to cancel our classes outside of the cancellation policy.
LATE CANCEL POLICY : no less than 9 hours BEFORE the class start time. anything outside of this will be deemed a Late Cancel or No Show (see fees + charges)
unfortunately, we cannot waive our cancellation policy (we always waive the first one), no matter what the reason is.
if you are unwell / injured or hospitalised, we will require a medical certificate but outside of that, we will enforce the Late Cancel / No Show policy.
we appreciate your support + understanding when this occasion arises and encourage you to manage your bookings + cancellations via the App as soon as you know you are unlikely to attend your class. this allows others to join the session + also potentially avoiding a late cancel on your behalf.
CHANGING CLASS TIMES LAST MINUTE
the Late Cancel policy applies if you decide to change your class time less than 9 hours prior to your class starting. even if you attend the session before or after, or within the same day, it is still deemed a Late Cancel.
you will be given the option to either remain in your original class time, cancel it and receive the Late Cancel penalty or receive the late cancel penalty and purchase the session of your choice at a reduced rate of $18.
it is really important that we are aware of this BEFORE booking into any sessions. if you know your schedule may incur last minute changes, our recommendation is to book your sessions last minute to avoid any penalties. with that does come risk of not getting into popular classes.
